Have you ever tried to search for free crochet tablecloth patterns before? They’re actually surprisingly hard to find. So what’s a girl to do when she’s hankering for some new table decoration? Check out this great post, of course!
Ok, so hear me out, but not all of the things on this list are actually free crochet patterns for tablecloths. In my quest for patterns, I was only able to find a handful of diamonds among the weird, outdated, and just plain ugly designs. There really just aren’t a whole lot out there!
But if you’ll just take a second to think outside the box with me here, then I think you’ll agree that this post is really something special. What do you do when you can’t find very many good free tablecloth patterns? Well, you figure out what those patterns have in common and then you improvise!
A good crochet tablecloth should be attractive and eye-catching. It should cover and protect the surface of the table while also enhancing its visual appeal. But what is a tablecloth if not just a big rectangle or fabric used for ornamental coverings? Or sometimes it’s a big circle if your table is round. Are these shapes reminding you of anything? Hello, blankets!
There are actually quite a few blanket patterns out there that could totally work as tablecloths. Does using blankets as free crochet tablecloth patterns sound weird to you? I really don’t see why it wouldn’t work! Swap out the soft yarn for a sturdier yarn like cotton and you’re in business!
