One of our favorite holidays to celebrate is Valentine's Day… who doesn’t want to celebrate love? Something we definitely need more in the world.
So to commemorate and get ourselves ready for that special holiday, we’ve put together a list of ‘love’-ly easy crochet projects you can do for the ones you love. These range from easy trinkets, wreaths and blankets.
Plaid Cape for Babies and Girls
The Crochet Plaid Cape is my way of bringing plaid into spring. The traditional red plaid is beautiful and I have used it for the Buttoned Plaid Cowl and Buttoned Plaid Scarf, but I wanted to do something a little lighter and pinker for Valentines day. It is quite easy to create a plaid combination. Just find two shades of the same color then add white as your lightest color.

Valentine's Day is right around the corner, and we all know what that means: candy! Which is awesome. . . except when it's not. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to sweets (cookies are one of my very favorite things, after all), but sometimes it seems like any holiday celebrated at school turns into a crazy sugar fest. So why not put my yarn stash to good use? These crocheted candies are just as festive and cute as candy without adding to the sugar mountain. Further proof that yarn is the answer to all of life's quandaries.

When I was trying to think of a project I could make for Valentine's Day I wanted to come up with something that wasn't hearts because I made some crocheted puffy hearts last year, I have made little crocheted heart ornaments, I even just made a pillow with hearts on it. I wanted to make something that represented love that wasn't hearts and the I love you sign popped into my head. I decided I was going to try to figure out a way to make an I love you hand. So I picked up a crochet hook, a ball of yarn and I got to work.
