An alphabet of A-Z Christmas crafts for preschoolers, work through the entire alphabet this holiday season to create lots of fun & learning with each letter.

When we really look at the season, there are opportunities for learning EVERYWHERE.

I love all things Christmas but still like to keep it all simple. With three energetic boys at home, things have to be fairly to the point or else I’ll just lose my mind…and I know you can probably relate.

Over the past few years, that really got me thinking…

How could I keep the simplicity of Christmas and pair it with some sort of educational activities to keep the momentum of the year going?

Get a week of Christmas Fun!

Well, I’ve got just the idea… an alphabet of A-Z Christmas crafts for preschoolers, but everyone is going to LOVE!

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is not “singing loud for all to hear,” as Buddy the elf would say, but by doing the simplest activities together in a positive way.

Watch your parenting mojo skyrocket with these alphabet of simple Christmas crafts for preschoolers.

Lets Create! A-Z Christmas Crafts for Preschoolers!

A. Angel Christmas Craft

Supplies: White paper, scissors, glue, wide popsicle sticks, glitter, markers, string

Help your child trace his hands on white paper. Glue hand prints to the back of wide popsicle sticks to make angel’s wings and body. Use glitter and markers to decorate. Glue or tape the string in a loop to the back of each angel Christmas craft to hang the ornament.

B. Build a Snowman on Your Fridge

I love this project so much we do it every year! If you love snowmen and want to build a snowman without snow, bring the fun inside with some craft foam, self-adhesive magnets, and wrapping paper.

C. Christmas Cards with Kids

Who doesn’t love holiday cards for kids to make? My family cherishes their Christmas cards made by toddlers. If the kids mess up or add a superhero cape to a snowman, even more adorable. Remember, imperfection makes memories.

D. Doughnut Craft

Supplies: Apple, sharp knife, melon baller, nut butter, toppings (i.e. raisins, sprinkles, chocolate chips)

This first part is just for Mom to do. Cut the apple into even half-inch slices then core out the middle of each with the melon baller. Give each child an apple doughnut, a portion of your favorite nut butter with a plastic knife. Child can frost and decorate his healthy doughnut craft.

E. Elf Survival Kit

Supplies: Glass jar, glitter, cotton balls, a hot cocoa packet, band aid, candy cane, and other candy

This is one of the cutest Christmas elf crafts ever! Add a few cotton balls and glitter to the base of a glass jar then fill it with items an elf might need if he were stranded away from the North Pole.

F. Fingerprint Cards

Fingerprint art is the best! The ideas I’ve used on our Christmas cards would also be really cute on clear globe ornaments. I used green paint for Christmas trees and wreaths, but you could use white paint for snowmen, black and white for penguins, or red and green for holly leaves and berries. Endless possibilities!

G. (and H). Gingerbread House Craft

Supplies: Pre-made sugar cookie dough, gingerbread house cookie cutter, cookie sheets, frosting, knife, candy

I can’t claim credit for this one. A friend of mine threw a Christmas party for 17+ kids and wanted an easy Christmas craft; so she created gingerbread house cookies. They look like the front of a gingerbread house, and the kids decorated them with icing and candy.

I. Icicle Craft

I came up with this icicle craft using a bag of white buttons at the craft store to create the cutest garland. It will help your kids build their fine motor skills by sorting by size, gluing, and cutting.

J. Jingle Bell Activities

This is more of an activity than a craft, but with jingle bell activities, you just gotta move!

K. (and L.) Kris Kringle Christmas Letter

I know everyone calls him Santa Claus, but I wanted a K alphabet craft…so, here’s my Kris Kringle letter. Every child loves writing a letter to Santa during the holidays, but why not take it a step further and write a thank you card to Santa for all he does? Your child could decorate the card with some fingerprint art or festive stickers and glitter glue.

M. Marshmallow Snowman Craft

What better way to craft than to build a snowman with marshmallows? This was one of Henry’s favorite crafts; of course, he snitched a few marshmallows.

N. Nativity for Kids

Supplies: 5 popsicle sticks, glue, black paint, glitter, ribbon

Glue five popsicle sticks together for roof, floor, and walls. Paint popsicle sticks black and add glitter for a silhouette nativity for kids. You can also add ribbon to hang it on the tree.

O. Orange Christmas Ornaments

Ever see those gorgeous oranges decorated with cloves? They’re called dried Pomander balls, and throughout history, they were the usual décor at Christmas. As the oranges and cloves dried, they released this amazing citrus and spiced aroma that filled the house.

Supplies: Fresh oranges, cloves, toothpicks, decorative ribbon

Use toothpicks to pre-prick a design in the oranges. This will help your kids’ fingers not to get hurt by the cloves. Then have your child place the cloves into the orange skin. Once complete, tie a decorative ribbon around the orange for hanging.

P. Paper Chain Fun

Paper chains have so many uses…paper chain alphabet, Christmas chain countdown, etc. But I really love when they’re built to last. These are my tips on how to make your paper chain reusable.

Q. Quiet Time for Children

Sometimes Mom just needs a break. These quiet time ideas are perfect for any time of the year. Want to make it more festive? Add in your favorite holiday books.

R. Rudolph Handprint Ornament

This Rudolph handprint ornament is one of my favorites, although all 3 ornaments on this page are super cute.

I know I flipped T and U but trying to come up with a U Christmas craft isn’t easy. These upcycled Christmas ideas are so festive. My friend Rashmie and her daughter Pari are ecstatic to share their upcycled Christmas decorations.
