Crochet Christmas Tree – Part 1 (2024)

Well, this was one of those spontaneous makes I haven’t experienced in years. I made this crochet Christmas tree for our Advent window. I made it without bothering about how the stitch patterns interacted or whether it was ‘good enough’. I made it without bothering about the maths (too much). I just MADE something. It felt wonderful and freeing. Once I’d made it, I decided to write it up after all. I put aside the things I ‘should’ be doing and spent three glorious days remaking it in bright colours and writing down the pattern.

Crochet Christmas Tree – Part 1 (1)

Full disclaimer: this pattern is written-only, with only a few photos to help you on your way. It has not been tested, so I apologise if I missed something. If you find an error, please point it out, and I’ll fix it! I suppose I could have waited until next year; could have polished the pattern, had it tested, taken all the photos, asked for charts…

I could have, but the odds are that I would have lost the motivation or enthusiasm by next year. So, I am presenting it as is, spontaneously and full of joy.

Have a wonderful Festive Season!

ps. I’ve broken the pattern up into two parts because there are over 60 rows!!!! I’m sharing Part 1 below. You can find Part 2 HERE.
